Sitting in one and a half seats instead of one is not fancied by most of the people. It is illogical to doubt that obesity is challenging human race with every passing minute. In today’s world, age, race and ethnicity, has very little to do in this scenario. Undoubtedly, the statistics of fat loss surgery in India is on the rise.
When we talk about fat loss surgery, the first thing that comes in mind is the liposuction. But before one makes up their mind, few things must be cleared out first.
What is liposuction and how it is carried out?
Liposuction is a fat loss surgery for extracting fat out of the body. Usually it is done on an outpatient basis, but depending on the degree of fat extortion, it may be inpatient. The surgery begins with anesthesia. Whether it will be local or general entirely depends on the location and degree of fat removal.
The surgeon marks the fat zones with a surgical marker from where the fat has to be removed. After anesthesia sets in action, a suction device is attached to a cannula, made up of stainless steel is inserted in the fat zones. The cannula is carefully penetrated between the skin and the muscle. The fat (along with a considerable amount of blood) is extracted out by the action of suction.
What are the shortcomings of this procedure?
After the completion of the procedure, the patient can experience a wide range of discomfort and complications. Swelling, skin perforation, bleeding, bruising, soreness and difficulty to stand/stretch properly are the most common ones.
Although liposuction sound medically a very smooth, feasible and compelling procedure, it is not very effective in the long run. It is done to achieve the goal of better body contour instead of losing overall body weight.
Liposuction does NOT guarantee of its effectiveness after the procedure. If the patient does not cautiously stick to the guidelines and put a toe out of line, their body can gain weight as early as six months itself after the procedure.
Moreover, removing a huge proportion of fat in one sitting may possess additional complications to health as well.
Instead, other fat surgery options in India may be considered as alternatives. Weight reduction surgery or obesity surgery is one of the most effective ways to lose weight permanently. Options should be discussed with a doctor before making a final decision.
